Jack Fletcher is an electronic musician, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based in Bristol, UK. He studied Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa University and since graduating in 2005 has performed and released music under the pseudonyms Michael J. Rocks and Missing Reels. In 2017 he created an ongoing video project titled ‘Batteries, Beats and the Great Outdoors’. This project is an attempt by Jack to escape the realities of modern music production, of long days in the studio staring at a computer screen, and instead focus on the simple joy of creating in the moment. So, armed with simple battery powered synthesisers, a field recorder, and a camera, he sets out on sonic safaris to write and record music surrounded by the world outside of his studio. There he finds liberation in the restricted pallet of his limited instruments, and inspiration in the beauty of the great outdoors.
